6/1: Storming of Gaza aid convoy |

| 6/1: Israeli commandos armed with guns attacked the lead ship of a flotilla of aid-carrying vessels
bound for Gaza on Monday, leaving several of the pro-Palestinian activists on board dead and many
more injured.
The Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of six ships carrying hundreds of activists, political leaders and
journalists from around the world, was trying to deliver about 10,000 tonnes of basic aid including
food, medicines, and construction material, in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
While Israel has said activists were the first to attack the troops with bats and knives when they
boarded the ship, the flotilla's organisers said that Israeli forces were the ones to open fire
first.

Afghanistan were at a low and many of the Taliban were against heroin and the opium poppies.
However, since U.S. forces entered after 9/11, the poppy crop has skyrocketed. The UN has reported
that the six-year boom has lead to the Afghan crop being responsible for 92% of the world's heroin
trade. With Homeland Security and the War on Terror, it's amazing that the drug still gets into the
USA, one of it's strongest marketplaces.

| The Gaza Strip is preparing to receive the largest international ship convoy on May 27 aiming at
defying more than three years of a tight Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, The
Hamas-ministry of work said in a statement that it had finalized the second phase of renovating the
destroyed Gaza- fishermen harbor, which had been repeatedly targeted by Israeli war jets over the
past several years.
Emad Hamada, director in charge of renovating the harbor told Xinhua that several ministries,
including the ministry of work had managed over the past eight months to prepare and renovate the
harbor "to be able to receive the largest ship convoy of nine vessels, that will arrive at Gaza
harbor on May 27."

| In July 1964 Malcolm X attended the second meeting of the Organization of African Unity, which had
been formed in 1963 to bring about joint action by the independent African governments.
The OAU conference was held in Cairo July 17--21, and was attended by nearly all the heads of the
thirty-four member states. Malcolm X appealed to the delegates of the thirty-four African nations
to bring the cause of the twenty-two million black people in the United States before the United
Nations. He distributed a press release on OAAU letterhead on behalf of twenty-two million
Afro-Americans in the United States.
REPORTER: Malcolm, what is your purpose here?
MALCOLM X: Well, my purpose here is to remind the African heads of state that there are 22 million
of us in America who are also of African descent, and to remind them also that we are the victims
of America's colonialism or American imperialism, and that our problem is not an American problem,
it's a human problem. It's not a Negro problem, it's a problem of humanity. It's not a problem of
civil rights, but a problem of human rights...
